In a normal year, many of us can find enough excuses to allow our own health and fitness goals to be put on the backburner. Enduring a challenging year like the last 12 months, there is no shame in being forced to prioritize work, family, child-care, and anything else that may have created new challenges in 2020. Lynette has, like most, endured her fair share of ups and downs over the last year. But not many have remained as steadfast in their dedication and determination to their health and fitness.
Here is Lynette's story...
"I have been training with Robert since the Fall of 2015. My approach to physical and mental well-being has been widely influenced by my training and what I have learned from PT in the D goes well beyond how to execute a proper deadlift. The consistency that Robert and Sean helped me establish became a foundation for my well-being during this pandemic time. Within a week or so of the original stay at home orders, Robert adjusted to continue training virtually. One of my favorite things about physically going to the studio was being part of the positive, encouraging community that Robert has created. He has managed to continue the sense of community even through Zoom and we still get to hear each other's stories about children, work, house dilemmas, and much more. And somehow, he can still correct our form through Zoom so that we feel the benefit of each exercise every time.
I am looking forward to going back to the gym where the community will be strong and we can use the equipment that is there (except for perhaps the airbike). The last 6 years have been eventful in my life, with the pandemic itself presenting many layers of stress and loss. Being a member of the PT in the D community is a bright spot in those years that has given me tools and skills to deal with the rest of life's little quirks."
