2023 is your year!  This year we will be recognizing and celebrating our client achievements each month through their health and fitness journeys. Successes in health and fitness may look different for each person out there. We hope hearing about what others are going through, persevering with many of the same ups and downs, will be encouraging and motivating to stay positive.

Bryan took the major challenge of a knee replacement head on and has proved a little hard work and focus can go a long way! He put in the effort on his own to make the recovery as smooth as possible. Here is a bit more about his story in his words...

"My journey with Robert began years ago through the YMCA.  At that time, I was dealing with different challenges and wanted the added support to help me reach my goals, so we started working together.  Fast forward to 2022 when I came to terms that I needed a total knee replacement.  The new knee would help me get back to the physical activities I was missing out on with my kids.  In August, I decided to move forward with the knee replacement surgery date for November.  I thought November would give opportunity to get through the kid’s fall sport schedules and put in the extra effort to lose some weight before surgery and to make my recovery easier.

On Labor Day I kicked off the plan which included working out on regular basis, eliminating bad foods (carbs, sugars), eating more protein/vegetables, and no alcohol.  I stayed focused on the plan and didn’t deviate for two months.  I was able to get my weight down 10lbs heading into my surgery.  Yeah!!  But that isn’t the whole story . . . I knew coming out of surgery I would have my challenges with pain, lack of exercise, and eating.  My motivation then was to keep going but had to slightly adjust my diet, start walking as much as I could, and working hard at my Physical Therapy.  In five weeks, I was back at the gym with Robert and I finished up my PT the first of January.  The good news... I was able to lose a few more pounds during that recovery period.   My goal is to keep moving forward in 2023 by staying focused on my diet, commitment to exercise, getting enough sleep, and taking time for myself."
