2023 is your year! This year we will be recognizing and celebrating our client achievements each month through the various health and fitness journeys. Successes in health and fitness may look different for each person out there. We hope hearing about what others are going through, persevering with many of the same ups and downs, will be encouraging and motivating to stay positive.
Jim can and should serve as an inspiration for us all as we try to age as gracefully as possible. As he celebrated turning 79 years young this month, his goal of running in a half marathon at the age of 80 is now in focus. He continues to set a high standard with his desire to do something active every day, being proactive to maintain his health, and showing up giving great effort even when his body may not feel the best. Here is a bit more about his achievement to get to this point....
"I started PT in the D five years ago, right after my retirement. While I tried to exercise and jog daily while working, I had no actual program or goals. I knew the aging process was working against me, and I wanted to remain healthy to enjoy my retirement. For me, this meant enjoying traveling, playing with grandchildren, and leading an active life in the community. Robert developed a program that has increased my strength and endurance. He helped me develop better balance and stability, an important issue for seniors. He also encouraged me to set realistic workout goals and develop a running program.
During COVID, we continued with Zoom sessions, but now I am back with in-person sessions, which I enjoy much more. I even got to love working out on the air bike! I have also begun to set goals that I hope will keep me active and healthy for a long time. I've set a realistic goal for myself to complete a half-marathon when I turn 80 next year. Working out does not stop the aging process but helps you live an active life with confidence in your physical and mental abilities."
